Hotel hassler Rome
The hotel’s large entrance
hall, with its marble columns and sparkling floor, has long welcomed
heads of state, musicians, writers and painters, who have signed
its “Golden Book” of guests. The hotel’s rich
history began in 1885 when the Hasslers, a notable Swiss family
of hoteliers, acquired the property and quickly established it as
one of the leading accommodations in all of Rome. In 1921, the Hotel
Hassler passed into the hands of Oscar Wirth, the son of a prominent
Swiss hotel family, who established Europe’s first hotel chain
in 1873. Since 1982, Roberto E. Wirth, Oscar Wirth’s son,
has been general manager and subsequently became the Hassler’s
sole proprietor. “We want the Hassler to condense what the
hotel tradition is and should be, to preserve a personalized service
where guests feel genuinely at home,” he states. The Hassler's
86 rooms and 13 suites overlook the Villa Medici Garden, the Piazza
Trinità dei Monti, Piazza di Spagna or the Spanish Steps.
Each elegant room is a gem, redecorated with great care, filled
with masterpiece of art and beautiful furniture. Venetian lamps
and chandeliers from the island of Murano lend a romantic glow,
splendid tapestries and appliqués, walls and ceilings, mosaics
and frescoes provide extraordinary decorative accents while featuring
the latest in modern amenities.
For over a century, the Hassler has
been recognized as one of the prime hotels in Europe. This small
hotel, full of atmosphere, pays careful attention to details, in
order to make every guest's stay an unforgettable one. With an unbeatable
location atop the Spanish Steps, the Hassler is easy to find but
very difficult to leave. Discover the magic of the Hassler during
your next stay in Rome - the Eternal City.
