Hotel Colonna palace Rome
Occupying a building that dates back
to the 16th century, the Hotel Colonna Palace is situated in the
historic centre of Rome, right in front of the Italian Parliament
building surrounded by the ancient, narrow streets that characterize
the district, within 500 metres of many major attractions. High
ceilings, floor length curtains, richly coloured floral fabrics
and walls hung with period prints and engravings characterise the
air-conditioned guestrooms. All are equipped with satellite television,
minibars and bathrooms with hair dryers, bathrobes and slippers.
Guests can relax with an aperitif or coffee in the lobby bar, or
enjoy panoramic city views from the roof terrace, which also has
a small swimming pool. Knowledgeable staff can provide local information
and tour advice and guests can chose to enjoy breakfasts in the

Conference and meeting room are available and those arriving by
car can make use of valet parking. Many of Rome's key sights are
within walking distance of the hotel with the Spanish Steps, Trevi
Fountain and Piazza Navona within 500 metres, while the Coliseum
is 1.5 kilometres away. Rome Fiumicino Airport is 30 kilometres
and about a 40 minute journey away. There is an express train service
every 30 minutes to Rome's Termini train station (journey time 30
minutes). A single ticket costs around 10 EUR. Taxis are readily
available at the airport, and at Termini. Take a licensed metered
taxi only. An airport surcharge is payable. A taxi to the city centre
will cost 50-60 EUR.
Many connoisseurs of Rome consider this hotel's location to be the
best in town. Halfway between Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and
the Spanish Steps, it is nestled at the very epicenter of the centro
storico, or Renaissance and Baroque part of the city. Rooms on the
front of the building overlook the National Parliament, affording
- among other things - a front-row seat for the daily change of
the guard.
